A bridge across time

In Bristol for a short break - then remembered that my zaida, Avram Haim Davidovitz, shlepped his ever-suffering wife (Grandma Davidson) down here from Hull (she had to travel alone with two toddlers - Joe and Moyshe) in 1903. He rented a house in St Lawrence Street, in the densely populated St, Paul's area for 7 shillings a week. The street is long gone - so instead here's a picture of the Clifton Suspension Bridge. A long shlep on foot from the city centre on the hottest day of the year - so I sympathise with Grandma Davidson.
